Nippon Kan’s AHAN affiliate in Rio de Jainero, Brazil is “in the news” today

Luc Leoni Sensei and his students continue to coordinate efforts to assist the Obra do Berco orphanage in Rio de Jainero. The campaign began over one year ago when Leoni Sensei organized a seminar where proceeds were donated to the orphanage. The Obra do Berco orphanage cares for children from the age of six months to 6 years, about 70 children at a time. The institution created about 73 years ago, is run by Mrs. Ana Maria Lima de Arruda. The orphanage focuses on the medical, psychological and nutritional needs of the children in need. Luc Leoni Sensei has been quoted to say “We chose this orphanage because here we found respect, dignity and health”.

We salute Luc Leoni Sensei and his students in supporting their community!
